M. Denis Hill,
QPP
Denis Hill specializes in
panoramic and conventional photographs, using a variety of film and digital
cameras. Although he produced magazine and advertising photography since 1969,
his career as a fine art photographer started when he moved to Whidbey Island,
Washington in 1998. His work was accepted in juried competition including those
held in conjunction with the Anacortes, Coupeville, and Edmonds arts festivals …
earning several first place awards. His work soon established unsurpassed
monthly and annual sales records at the Penn Cove Gallery cooperative in
Coupeville.
Favorite subjects include
Paris, New England, Yellowstone and the national parks of Utah. Having recently
relocated to Silver Lake, Denis is now exploring the visual opportunities of
Northeast Ohio. His work is shown in galleries in Washington and Ohio.
Denis holds the
Qualified Panoramic Photographer credential conferred by the International
Association of Panoramic Photographers. He has taught workshops on panoramic and
digital photography and presented programs on Adobe Photoshop at several
photography conferences.
Hill’s work reflects
emphasis the traditional artistic values of composition and emotional
communication. Critics have remarked on his ability to put the viewer on
location, while audiences have commented the way some images actually bring to
mind the smells of the locations.
Denis now produces prints
in two formats. His gallery offerings are primarily “gallery-wrapped” canvas
giclée prints up to 60” wide.
